Why choose beer instead of wine with your meal?

The first reason given by those questioned is: Beer is more thirst quenching and more refreshing. This is absolutely true for very spicy, sour or hearty dishes. Wine has to give way to beer here. The thirst quenching power of beer is known throughout the entire world. No discussion about that.

A second reason cited by the guests was: Beer has a broader taste-pallet, more differences in taste between the different styles. This makes beer such an attractive match with every different artwork the cook has created. Most great wines have a longer aftertaste, and that may interfere with the special taste touches the cook offered the meal.

The third reason for choosing beer with your fancy food-dish is the fact that most beers contain less alcohol and fewer calories than wine. Surprise: This was a more important reason for the women than for the men.

The fourth reason was the price: Beer costs less than wine. This may of course not always be true. It is although certain that a top quality beer costs less than a top quality wine. And, a glass of beer contains twice the amount of liquid compared to a glass of wine.
