BLOND ALES

It is a tradition for almost all self respecting Belgian breweries to have a blond beer in their portfolio, that is somewhat higher in alcohol than the regular Pilsner.
These beers are not lagers but ales. They were the first answer of the breweries at the beginning of the 20th century on the emerging popularity of the blond Pilsners.  Later on, since the demand for the lighter Pilsners became so dominant, practically all breweries were forced to brew a Pilsner as well.
However this historical fact leaves us with an interesting blond golden beer style that is easy drinking, but so much fuller of taste and flavor.
